03 Apr This guitar and violin duet of “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” is perfect
Last year we shared with you a performance our son and daughter did based on one of your arrangements (Be Still My Soul) with guitar/violin. They just finished competing in their regional student competition for this year and played your arrangement of “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” along with a violin part my husband wrote to go along with it. Elliot and Alana did great with perfect scores from the judges! They are looking forward to taking it to the International Student Convention in May. We are attaching a PDF of the violin part if you would like to share it, and also a youtube video of them performing it before the judges. Elliot also played “My Heavenly Father Loves Me” and beat out some very good competitors and won first place. Thank you again for the work you put into your music and website and for sharing it with us.
I want to thank the Jordan family for sharing these beautiful performances and sheet music with all of us. I especially want to thank Elliot and Alana for putting so much work into this beautiful performance. I got goosebumps all over when you hit that third verse. It was perfect.
This is what I love about music. It is about playing music together and sharing with others. Music is never complete. There is always more to be added. Music changes with every performance. Musicians can play the exact same piece, but because the musician plays a key role in every performance, you’ll still get several distinct pieces of music that can touch others in different ways.
We all play a part in each other’s musical journey. I feel honored to be a part of it with all of you.
