Alice’s pick for December

We all know what happens in December. That’s right, the next song is going to be a Christmas song.

It was Alice’s turn to pick. She’s three. The only songs she knows aren’t exactly church songs (not that I can’t do a non-church related Christmas song. But for the sake of this site, I’d like to stick to hymns and primary songs for as long as I can).

So we basically had to play her a bunch of songs and ask her which she liked the best. She chose “When Joseph Went to Bethlehem.”

I’m excited about this one because it’s not about what Christmas songs are usually about. This one is about Joseph. I don’t think enough can be said about the role Joseph played in Christ’s birth.

And since there aren’t a lot of songs about Joseph, it kind of opens it up for how I can arrange it.

I have some ideas already. It will be interesting to see how they play out on the guitar.

Thanks again for everyone’s constant encouragement and support! I’d be happy doing these even if no one was listening. But knowing that you are, that’s pretty cool.

I'm just an average Mormon trying to offset the crap out there on the internet, one guitar arrangement at a time. (Mormon.org Profile)
